umbel deepmouthed
release wave warbled
sound catches me unaware on time
in wide warm wash
that sits atop the hiss
of sticks sizzling cymbalrim
to describe an orbit as heavy and thick
as Jovian morning

landing on air
vaporfoot
crisp sharp sheer
shard-to-spark
a wild run
toward a clutch of key
to ope-a-door
that was open
all along

drawn down quarter corridors of notes
cottonmouthed and close
to the far-far finding fins
fast-formed to ferry me

found mown,
chipped as a witch's ring,
pulsepasted
pure and un-reified,
pulled apart,
parsed
by the protean eminence
whose sound finds colour
in my bones

the scaffolding brace buckles,
scintillates,
the unit multiplies
its fizzfry edges,
unspooled outwarding,
insides as silver bright
and bruised
as the moon.
